As part of measures to tackle insecurity in Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has made known plans to hold State Security Summit insisting that something must be done immediately to restore peace in the State.
Alia was speaking at the Government House in Makurdi while interacting with the Advisory team deployed by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa to look into the security situation in the state.
The Governor told the Advisory team led by Emmanuel Oche he intends to extend the summit to the North-Central region after the State edition.
The Defence Headquarters advisory team said they had earlier visited the Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, the Tor Tiv and also the Catholic Bishop of Kastina-Ala Diocese.
The team also intend to visit the Benue South senatorial district, where they will interact with the Vice Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, the Ochi Idoma and other stakeholders in the area.
