The Benue State Government says it will complement the efforts of federal government to fast-track the ongoing dualization of Makurdi – Otukpo – Enugu road by providing logistics and compensating those whose properties are affected.
State Governor Hyacinth Alia stated this while receiving a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Works at the Government House in Makurdi the state capital.
Permanent secretary Federal Ministry of works Olufunsho Adebiyi led the delegation on courtesy visit to the Government house.
The on going dualization of the Makurdi- Otukpo -Enugu road topped the list of deliberations.
While pledging to compensate those whose properties will be affected by the dualization, Governor Alia again appealed for another extension for the dual carriageway.
Alia also wants the Federal Government to follow the initial agreement of creating a bypass in Otukpo.
