A lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Karl Kwaghger, was on Saturday night murdered in the Benue state capital.
The spokesperson of the police command in Benue state, Catherine Anne, confirmed the murder to ait.live, adding that Kwaghger, who is an associate professor of mechanical engineering, was found in a pool of his blood at the premises of the Tarka foundation.
The police, thereafter took the core to the hospital for an autopsy while investigations are on the incident.
ait.live gathered that the assailants first hit Kwaghger with a hard object on the head, after which his throat was slit.

The chairman, University of Agriculture, Makurdi branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Ameh Ejembi confirmed the death of the lecturer.
The university’s head, Information, Protocol, and Public Relations unit, Rosemary Waku also said the university authorities are also aware of the death of its staff but were yet to get the full details of the circumstances.
