United Nigeria Airlines has announced disruptions to some of its scheduled flights following a bird strike incident involving one of its aircraft.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the airline confirmed that the incident occurred during Flight UN0509, which was en route from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos scheduled for 12:00 hours on Sunday, 29th March, 2026.
According to the airline, the bird strike affected one of the engines of its Airbus A320 aircraft, prompting the immediate withdrawal of the plane from service for a comprehensive safety inspection.
It says the decision was taken in line with its strict safety standards, emphasising that passenger safety remains its top priority.
As a result of the development, “some flights across our network will not operate as scheduled.”
The airline apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused and assured that efforts are ongoing to minimise disruptions and provide support to affected travellers.
