A visually impaired Nigerian, Samuel Gabriel, wants the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and other religious bodies to help secure the release of his Saxophone, his only means of livelihood, which was seized by security personnel at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja.

The appeal by blind Samuel Gabriel is coming 23 days after the Department of State Security, DSS, released the Dunamis – 5, through a court order, following the arrest of the young artiste for wearing a Buharimustgo T-shirt during a Sunday Service at the Headquarters of the church in Abuja.

It took the AIT crew 7 days to get across to the visually impaired Samuel Gabriel who had spent 28 days in the detention of the Department Of State Security for wearing Buharimustgo T-shirt alongside 4 others during a Sunday Church Service at the Headquarters of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, located on the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Expressway, Abuja.

Gabriel was all smiles as he welcomed the AIT crew to his home/office, obviously betraying no emotions of one who has suffered injustice in the hands of state security operatives.

The 27-year- old Saxophonist was arrested alongside 4 other young Nigerians on July 4th at Dunamis’s by the DSS.

The blind Saxophonist said he depends solely on the little money he makes from playing the instrument to earn a living.

He also explained that life has taken a different turn since his arrest and detention, and especially because of the seizure of his work tool, the Saxophone.

He, therefore, appealed to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and other religious bodies, to persuade the leadership of Dunamis International Gospel Centre to release his instrument, to enable him to fend for himself.

As at the time of filing this report, efforts made by AIT to reach the spokesperson of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, proved abortive.

Samuel was born into a family of five some 27 years ago as a healthy child.

He however became blind after unsuccessful treatments of glaucoma disease at the age of 15.

For now, the visually challenged young Nigerian believes that his dedication to his profession as a saxophonist has greatly helped him to overcome many challenges.
