The remains of former Senate President, Wayas, have been laid to rest in his hometown, Sankwala, Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Wayas, who passed away in London on November 30, 2021, was eulogized as a man who dedicated his life to unity, peace, and progress.
Family, friends, and dignitaries gathered to pay their last respects to the man who served as Senate President from 1979 to 1983.

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, who led the tributes described Wayas as a man whose legacy of love and unity will remain timeless.
The funeral was attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria, including former Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade.
