Boko Haram suicide bomber kills 17 people in Konduga, Borno State

At least 17 people have been killed and dozens injured after blasts by suspected suicide bomber who targeted a market in Konduga LGA of Borno State, North-East Nigeria.

The blasts occurred on Wednesday night in Kawuri community which is located about 50 kilometres from Maiduguri, capital of Borno State

Intelligence sources told counter insurgency analyst, Zagazola Makama that at about 0800hrs, on July 31, suspected Boko Haram terrorist.detonated an improvised explosive device, IED resulting in the deaths of 17 people and injuring over 20 others.

“The bomber laboured in the community for some days with the locals before carrying out the attack.

Response team were however dispatched to the scene to evacuate the injured victims for treatment while the corpses were taken to Primary Health Care Centre.

The Police Explosive Ordinance Device, EOD team was deployed to the scene to secure the area from further bombs. Normalcy has been restored, and joint security teams are on cautious alerts.
