The Federal Government has been called upon to investigate allegations of conspiracy against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, a multimillion-dollar indigenous oil company.
The refinery, acknowledged as one of the best globally, has been accused of facing threats from international oil companies and foreign media.
The Vice President, Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar Edwin, raised the alarm, citing a concerted effort to frustrate Nigeria’s economic emancipation.
He alleged that foreign investors are trying to suppress Nigeria’s economy and buy its assets at giveaway prices.

The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) has expressed concerns over the allegations, stating that the threat could be real and have devastating consequences for the Nigerian economy.

BON urged the government to take immediate action to combat and checkmate any attempt to frustrate Nigeria’s economic growth.
This is not the first time Nigeria has faced allegations of international conspiracy.
In 2015, powerful foreign countries protested against Nigeria’s monetary policy aimed at increasing the value of the Naira and encouraging local production.
BON wants the government to take steps to ensure the survival of Nigerian refineries, including the Dangote refinery, and to protect and promote industries owned by Nigerians.
The Organisation also appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct a thorough investigation into the allegations to determine their veracity.
