The Borno State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Salihu Kwayabura’s, has been sacked with immediate effect, Dr. Kwayabura was also the Secretary of the Borno State High-powered Committee On Covid-19.
A statement by the Special Adviser to Governor Babagana Zulum on Public Relations and Strategy, Isa Gusau, disclosed that, the sack was part of measures to reposition the Ministry of Health.

Zulum expressed gratitude to Dr. Kwayabura for his immense contributions, to the development of Borno’s public health sector, for the past two years.
The former commissioner had also served under the Kashim Shettima previous administration as Commissioner.
The statement also said that, Governor Zulum has directed his Chief of Staff, Professor Isa Marte, to oversee the Ministry of Health, pending the appointment of a substantive commissioner.
Isa Marte is a Professor of Pharmacology and a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science.
