The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has called on President , Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in the health sector as the era of paying lip service to what they described as the monster called brain drain is over.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of their ordinary general meeting held in Lagos.
NARD urged the government to set up a high powered committee to review and harmonize the reports from the Former President Obasanjo Health Agenda and Former Vice President Osinbajo led Health sector reforms committee in order to generate a plan of action for the health sector.

The communique signed by its president Emeka Orji and two others also warned that the removal of petroleum subsidy could lead to increased inflation and a rising cost of living, affecting the already strained healthcare sector and Nigerians at large.
They advised the government to ensure that monies saved from the subsidy are judiciously used and put into meaningful investment especially in the health sector.
