The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has reported that 11,188 Covid-19 patients have been discharged in Nigeria. This is the highest number of successfully treated cases in one day and more than half of total number of discharged patients as at Monday, August 3.
NCDC had earlier indicated that 10,949 patients had recovered from Covid-19 infection in a community in Lagos State where they were being managed at home. This must have been responsible for the high number of successfully treated cases reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
Consequently, Nigeria now has only 12,582 active Covid-19 cases following the successful treatment of 31,851 patients since the index case was recorded on February 27.
Meanwhile, 14 Covid-19 deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours across Nigeria with the national death toll jumping to 910.
