Breaking: APGA’s Soludo wins Anambra Guber Election

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been re-elected as the Governor of Anambra State, following a sweeping victory in the November 8, 2025 governorship election.

The Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, announced the final results early Sunday morning at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Awka.

According to the official figures, Prof. Soludo polled 422,664 votes, winning in all 21 local government areas of the state.

He defeated his closest rivals: Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes, and Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who garnered 37,753 votes.

Other major contenders included George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) with 10,576 votes and John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 8,208 votes.

Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, a total of 595,298 votes were cast, with 584,054 valid votes and 11,244 rejected votes, giving a voter turnout of just over 21 percent.
