A boat conveying about 23 people on their way to an annual convention along River Benue has reportedly capsized, leaving only 2 survivors.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene who confirmed the unfortunate incident said that the 23 members of ECAN Church Ijaha, Makurdi Local Government Area of the State boarded a boat to attend a conference across River Benue, at the midstream when the boat sank into the river.

Anene futher disclosed that a Marine Police search party was deployed to the scene where 2 persons were rescued alive while 21 persons are still missing. She said further development will be communicated to members of the public as soon as possible.”
