The Federal High Court in Abuja is presently delivering judgement in a suit instituted against former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh and has convicted Metuh on three counts already.
In the judgement that started at exactly 9am on the charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang while reviewing the 3 of the 7-count charge held that some of the documents tendered by the defendant did not back up his claims where he said he used the sum of N400 million having destroyed his own confessional statement in which he said he used the said money for PDP campaign.
Justice Abang therefore convicts Metuh on the three charge read so far.
The anti-graft agency accused the former PDP spokesman of money laundering to the tune of N400 million
He was charged alongside his company, Destra Investment, with 7 counts bordering on criminal diversion of the money received from the Office of the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd).

Metuh was also said to have been engaged in financial transactions in the sum of $2 million without going through a financial institution, an offence the EFCC said was in violation of a provision of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
During their arraignment in court in January 2016, the defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
