The Former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma has been charged with treason.
The four-count charge borders on his alleged involvement to overthrow the government of Juliis Bio on 26th of November.
The matter has just been stood down at the request of the country’s Attorney General by the magistrate hearing the case.
The country’s ministry of Information has also released a statement on the case.
Koroma has consistently denied the accusation of plotting a coup, and said the government is on a political witch hunt following the hotly disputed outcome of the presidential election, which Bio was re-elected
