Speaker Imo State House of Assembly Chiji Collins has been impeached. His motion for impeachment was supported by 19 out of the 27 members of the House of Assembly.

He was said to have been impeached on alleged financial impropriety, high handedness, and gross misconduct. Paul Emeziem from Onuimo LGA has Been elected speaker.
