Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that Nigeria is facing “existential threats” that require unity and collective action beyond partisan politics.

Speaking at a political gathering in Enugu State on Wednesday, Obi dismissed claims that he was merely aligning with an emerging coalition, insisting that he has been part of the movement from the very beginning.
According to him, the challenges confronting the country are too grave for political grandstanding, stressing that genuine collaboration across political divides remains the only viable path to national recovery.
