Nigeria now has over 33,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nigeria is now over 33,000 following 595 new infections recorded in 20 states. This brings the total number of cases recorded in the country since the index case on February 27 to 33,153.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC confirms that the new Covid-19 infections are reported in Lagos-156; Oyo-141; FCT-99; Edo-47; Kaduna-27; Ondo-22 and Rivers-20. Other states include Osun-17; Imo-13; Plateau-10; Nasarawa and Anambra-8 each; Kano, Benue and Borno-5 each; Ogun-4; Taraba and Gombe-3 each; Kebbi and Cross River-1 each.

There are 224 Covid-19 patients discharged after successful treatment across Nigeria in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number to 13,671.

Meanwhile only 4 new Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in the country within the last 24 hours. This brings the death toll to 744.
