The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 553 new infections being the highest to be recorded in one day since the country’s index case was reported in February this year.
With an increase in the number of tests in the last few days nationwide the number of confirmed cases looks set to rise even higher. The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country is now 9,855.
At least 15 states have recorded new cases including Lagos-378, FCT-52, Delta-23, Edo-22,, Rivers-14, Ogun-13
Kaduna-12, Kano-9, Borno-7, Katsina-6, Jigawa-5, Oyo-5, Yobe and Plateau-3 each,
Osun-1.
There are 12 new fatalities in the country taking the national death toll to 273. Meanwhile, 159 recoveries have been reported taking the number of discharged patients to 2,856 nationwide.
