Doctors in the employment of the Ondo state Government, have embarked on an indefinite strike, over the unpaid salary arrears dated back to January 2017.
Spokesperson for the state Government doctors’ forum, Olubosede omolayo, while addressing journalist after an emergency meeting of the doctors in Akure said that they are tired of government insensitivity to their plights.
The doctors which included the association of residents doctors, National Association of Government General medical and Dental practitioners and medical and dental Consultants Association of Nigeria in Ondo state said they are withdrawing their services from the government hospitals from today Tuesday February 2, 2021.

The doctors also rejected fifty percent November 2020 salary paid to them by the state government.
They said it is insensitive for Government to take such move in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, while already owing them 4 months salaries .
The doctors described it is unfortunate that many members have been infected and dead from covid-19 infection.
They are demanding for the immediate replacement of doctors that left the service of the state government and their payment of Covid-19 allowance.
