Oyo State now has a new Deputy Governor. He is Adebayo Lawal who replaces Rauf Olaniyan earlier impeached by the State House of Assembly.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered on Adebayo Lawal by the State Chief Judge, Munta Abimbola after confirmation of his appointment by the state legislature.
Lawal who was nominated by Governor Seyi Makinde is a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. He is the running mate to the Governor for his re-election bid in 2023.
Until his appointment as Deputy Governor, Adebayo Lawal was serving as Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Housing Corporation.
