The decision was taken at the ongoing National Convention of the party in Ibadan, Oyo State relying on section 40 of the PDP Constitution.
Founding member of the party and elder statesman, Bode George presented the motion before the convention delegates and was seconded by a senior advocate of Nigeria Emmanuel Enoidem, receiving a loud endorsement by party delegates.
According to the motion, the affected members were expelled for various breaches of the PDP constitution, including canvassing votes for another party, holding parallel congresses, and sponsoring litigation against the party including seeking to stop the 2025 elective convention.
