Protracted crisis in opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has deepened as the National Working Committee, NWC suspends the National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu; National Organising Secretary Umar Bature; National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, and others for 30 days
The three PDP national officers and others were suspended for allegedly bringing the party into disrepute, and involvement in anti-party activities. The recent development is not unconnected with Friday’s Federal High Court judgement stopping the party’s planned National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. On November 15-16.
At a media briefing, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba said the decision followed an emergency NWC meeting held on Saturday at the Party’s Secretariat, pursuant to provisions of section 58 and 59 of the PDP Constitution 2017 (as amended).

Debo explained that the suspended National Officers of the party have been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action and during the period, the affected persons cease to function in their respective capacities.
The PDP says in the case of the National Secretary, pursuant to section 36 (2) of the party’s constitution, the Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo shall act as the National Secretary while in the case of the National Legal Adviser and the deputy, the National Director of Legal Services, Jacob Otorkpa was directed to oversee the activities of the Department.
