Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for flaging off the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline project, saying his foresight, love and commitment to the growth and development of the country is unprecedented.
Both Governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State jointly commissioned the commencement of works at Ajaokuta and Rigachikun sites, while President Buhari watched remotely via video-conference from the Council Chamber in Abuja.
Bello said when completed, the AKK Project will provide the desirous stimulus to domestic industrial growth and boost energy infrastructure.
The Kogi Governor thanked Mr President for giving hope and confidence to the local companies and called for replicating the revolution also in agriculture in the Energy infrastructure.
According to Yaya Bello , some of the country’s long term economic aspirations cannot be achieved if the necessary manpower and technical know-how are inadequate, adding that “as a government, they will continue to engage youths in vocational training and skill acquisition programmes”.
He recalled how in 2018, his administration partnered with a Civil Engineering company which specialized in outsourcing, training and management of industrial welders which led to hundreds of well-trained and equipped Kogi youths in metallurgy, welding and fabrication and who are today engaged by the local industries in the state
He therefore called on the companies handling the AKK Project to look inward for manpower where necessary as the government is ready to provide all necessary support for the completion of the project.
The Kogi Governor did not forget to praise President Buhari for his untiring effort towards the reactivation of the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited saying his administration will continue to pray for the President’s wellbeing.
