President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate suspension of Hadiza Bala Usman as Managing Director/CEO of the Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA.
The President has appointed the Authority’s Director of Finance, Mohammed Koko to take over as Managing Director in acting capacity.
Although there is no official statement on the development, sources in the Presidency and the Ministry of Transportation confirmed the suspension to ait.live.
Usman was said to have been suspended by the President on allegations of financial impropriety and incompetence.

The sources went further to say that a circular has been issued to top management staff of the Ministry of Transportation on the suspension.
Usman was appointed Chief Executive of the NPA in 2016. Her appointment was renewed in January 2021 for another 5-year term
