President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Muhammadu Muhammed, a retired Air Vice Marshall as the new Director General of the Nigerian Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
This was disclosed in a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and signed by the Director of Information, Willie Bassey.
The appointment, which took effect Thursday on April 13, 2020, is for an initial period of four years in line with section three of the NEMA Establishment Act.

While thanking the former DG of NEMA, Mustapha Maihaja, for his service, the President directed that he hands over all official matters to his successor, Air Vice Marshall Muhammed, immediately.
