Buhari approves upward review of DTA

PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved an UPWARD review of Duty Tour Allowance, DTA in all federal ministries, departments and agencies.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Friday, the Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Ekpo Nta, noted that the review will affect officers from grade level one to seventeen.

Nta said the adjustment takes immediate effect with a circular already sent to MDAs.

According to the review Grade Levels 1 to 4 and their equivalent are to get N10,000 per diem, grade levels 5 and 6 to receive N15,000 per diem and Officers on Grade Levels 7 to 10 get N17,500.

Others are Grade levels 12 and 13, N20,000, Grade levels 14 and 15, N25,000 and Grade Levels 16 and 17, N37,500.

The last review was done in 2008 with officers on Grade Levels 6 and below getting N5,000, officers on Grade Levels 7 to 14, N12,000 and officers on Grade Levels 15 to 17, N16,000, while Permanent Secretaries got N20,000 and Ministers N35,000 for duty tour allowance.

However, in the latest review Upward, DTA for permanent Secretaries and Ministers were not mentioned in the circular released by the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, NSIWC.
