President Muhammadu Buhari has directed Ministries, Department and Agencies, (MDAs), to study a report on how best to ensure effective policy design and implementation for some of its recommendations.
The report entitled, “Getting Things Done: Strategies for Policy and Programme Implementation in Nigeria,” was presented to the President, Thursday, at the Presidential Villa, by the Senior Executive Course 43 (2021), of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Plateau State.
The President assured the course participants that it would be treated with the seriousness and urgency it deserves.
The 85 participants who registered for the Senior Executive course 43 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru Plateau State, have completed the course and are expected to graduate this weekend.
They have met with President Buhari to submit their researched work on the theme, ‘Getting Things Done: Strategies for Policy and Programme Implementation in Nigeria.
They undertook study tours to 14 states in Nigeria, five countries in Africa and six countries outside Africa.

Details of their findings were presented to the president behind closed doors, after which the President addressed the participants and directed MDAs to study the report.
The President explained that the presentation done by the participants of Course 43, had drawn attention to the numerous efforts of his administration in policy and programme implementation, as well as the challenges faced.
For some of the participants, if the findings are implemented to the letter, it will go a long way to improve the situation of things in the country.
The course participants were drawn from the senior cadre of Federal and State establishments.
