President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with Governors from the north-central and northwest zones of the country on critical National issues. The meeting was centred mainly on the challenges of security in the country.
The closed-door meeting was attended by Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, Bello Muhammed Matawalle of Zamfara State, Nasir Ahmed El Rufai of Kaduna State, and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state.

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto, and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State were also at the meeting.

The Governors narrated their experiences and efforts aimed at finding lasting solutions to the security situation.

The Chairman, Northern Governors Forum, Plateau State Governor, who spoke to reporters on behalf of the delegation, described the meeting as fruitful and reassuring.
