The Senate has received President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for consideration and approval of virement in the 2021 budget to fund critical projects.
This is contained in a letter read by the President of the Senate Ahmed Lawan read on the floor of the chamber on Tuesday.
According to the President, the 2021 budget implementation is faced with challenges that will require additional funding for some critical and urgent items of the 2021 budget.

The letter further states that the request of adjustment is to ensure that the core objectives of the budget are accomplished.
He implored the Senate to urgently consider virement to support efforts in improving wellbeing of the citizens.
