Nigeria’s House of Representatives says it will not suspend embattled lawmaker, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh over alleged assault of cab driver.
Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu who stated however noted that it is the expectation of Nigerians that the lawmaker should be suspended.

Ikwechegh who had the opportunity to speak on the floor of the House tendered an apology.
The matter was then referred to the Ethics and Privileges Committee for investigation.
