The Etuboms Traditional Council in the Palace of Obong of Calabar has called on all citizens to remain calm and go about their legitimate business, Saying Edidem Ekpo-Okon Abasi-Otu remains the only Obong of Calabar in Nigeria.

Speaking with Journalists after their weekly meeting in the Palace Tuesday, Chairman of the Etubom Traditional Rulers Council, Bassey Duke described the emergence of New Obong of Calabar as Fake news that cannot stand before any law.

Bassey Duke who was joined by other Etuboms-In- Council, said normal activities continue in the Etuboms Traditional Council, OCEF, and all other organs of the Palace.

He raised the alarm over those who are looking for any means to disrupt the transition and inauguration of the Governor-elect, Cross River State, urging the security agencies to take up the information seriously.

The Traditional Rulers warned those who have grudges as a result of the outcome of the governorship election not to bring it into the traditional matters of the revered Efik Throne or face the consequences.
