Sports journalists in Bayelsa State have called on the Super Eagles Head Coach, Genort Rhor, to invite more home-based players into the team, as the build-up continues ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The journalists stated this in Yenagoa, while reacting to the Super Eagles list for the friendly against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun
in Vienna, Austria on June 4th, as part of preparations ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup Qualifiers held from September.

Coach Genort Rhor has released a 24 man squad that includes three home based Players and 21 foreign players.

The journalists, however, commended the early plans by the Nigeria Football Federation to get the team adequate set to overcome Liberia, Cape verde and the Central Africa Republic, in Group C of the World Cup Qualifiers.

Key players like Samuel Chukwueze, Kenneth Omuero, Joe Aribo, Sam Ajiyi, and Portugal-based Zaidu Sanusi, were excluded from the match list over Injury and the hectic football season in Europe.
