Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has narrowly won a snap election, but fell short of the majority need to form a majority government.
The Liberal Party won 155 seats, beating the Conservatives to second place with 119 seats.
This is the second election in two years and the Trudeau government has had a huge task with its handling of the COVID-19, which is in fourth wave in the country.

The Canadian leader told supporters in Montreal, “you elected a government that will fight for you and deliver for you”.
The leader of the Conservatives, Erin O ‘Toole remarked in Ontario, “Canadians sent him back with another minority at the cost of C$600m”, a reference to the amount it cost to organise the election, regarded the most expensive in the country’s history.
