Over one hundred and thirty female residents of Ilorin, Kwara State capital have been screened and sensitized on the need for regular and periodic checks to prevent breast cancer.
The founder of Bundies Care Initiative, Funmi Osiegbu disclosed this during an annual health walk meant to sensitize residents of Kwara State on early detection of cancer for proper treatment.
Funmi Osiegbu a survivor of cancer and others while lamenting the high rate of breast cancer amongst young girls are of the view that breast cancer is not a death sentence citing lifestyle as the cause of 95% cases in women while only 5% is genetic, calling for early detection in both young and old women for necessary medical treatment.

The participants also used the event to call for government involvement in reaching more of the populace on cancer prevention.
With this awareness on cancer detection and prevention, it is hoped that the increasing cases will drop in the state.
