The Nigerian Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has commended personnel of the Air Component of Operation Delta Safe for their unwavering commitment to national security.
Speaking during a special Christmas luncheon in Port Harcourt, the Air Chief noted that the dedication of the officers to their operational mandates has contributed significantly to the recent increase in Nigeria’s crude oil production.
The Chief of Air Staff’s Christmas luncheon is a tradition designed to boost the morale of personnel stationed in the “theatre of operations,” far from their families during the festive season.
It also serves as a solemn moment to honor fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in service to the nation.
Represented by the Chief of Standards and Evaluation, Air Vice Marshal Ebiowei, the Nigeria Air force boss lauded the officers for maintaining the core mandate of Operation Delta Safe within the Niger Delta region.
The Air Chief assured personnel that the Nigerian Air Force fleet would soon be bolstered with sophisticated, precision-strike aircraft.
He added that personnel would undergo specialized training to ensure they possess the requisite knowledge to operate the new platforms.
Earlier, the Commander of the 115 Special Operations Group, Group Captain AA Okpaleye, affirmed that the Air component remains resolute in its fight against oil theft and economic sabotage.
The event concluded with the representative of the Chief of Air Staff joining military personnel and the wives of officers for a commemorative group photograph.
