Nigerians have been enjoined to see members of the clergy as joint partners in the socio-political development of the society.
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri who was represented by his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, gave the admonition while addressing Christians at the priestly and diaconate ordination mass of the Catholic Diocese of Bomadi at St Patrick’s Parish, in Ovom, Yenagoa.
Catholic faithful had come from neighbouring Rivers and Delta states which covers the Bomadi Diocese to witness the ordination of Deacons and Seminarians to Reverend Fathers.
The Bishop of Lokoja Diocese in Kogi State, Most Reverend Olorunmolu Martin who was the guest speaker tasked believers on the essence of living a christ-like life.

The presiding Bishop of Bomadi Diocese, Most Reverend Hyacinth Egbebi and the Governor Diri charged the church to take the Covid-19 safety protocols seriously as the second wave of the pandemic is real.
Ewhrudjakpo also charged the people to support the clergy in their services to God and humanity even as he thanked the church for their prayers for the Bayelsa State Government.

The ordained members of the clergy include five priests and three Deacons.
