The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has confirmed the fire incident that broke out in a section of its Makurdi branch early Thursday.
The Director of Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying that reports indicate that the fire started from the fuel dump behind the branch.
According to him, no fatalities have been recorded, and the affected site has been cordoned off for further investigation.

He added that normal work has continued at the branch.
He hereby assures the general public that the minor fire that occurred had been effectively put out, with no damage done to the branch.
An early morning fire on Thursday engulfed portions of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Makurdi Office, situated in the Benue State capital, disrupting banking activities that have now been restored.
