The Centre for Democracy and Development, CDD, has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration of turning a blind eye to political corruption.
This was contained in a report,”Buharimeter” released with an assessment of President Buhari’s five years anti-corruption campaign.
The organisation also berated the present administration for tolerating corruption in the oil and gas sector.
On fiscal transparency, the report says the APC-led government has been opaque with the Central Bank of Nigeria, while the apex bank has become less transparent and more vulnerable to political influence on fiscal and monetary policy.
The CDD further faulted the Buhari-led administration of failing to live up to its promise of curtailing corruption in the security sector.

The CDD, however, recommended some measures to redirect the administration back to the part of recovery firstly and these include, sanctioning government officials and ruling party politicians who attempt or have previously tried to interfere or exert undue pressure on the anti-graft agencies.
And also take concrete steps to improve transparency and accountability surrounding budgets, actual expenditures, and contracting processes, especially in the petroleum, power, defense, and humanitarian sectors.
