Chibok Schoolgirl, three others rescued from terrorists enclave in Borno

A newly rescued abducted Chibok School Girl, Aisha Grema, and three other women have been presented to the President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, NAOWA, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya.

The presentation was made by the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Chris Musa, at the Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.

Major General Waidi Shaibu who is the General Officer Commanding, GOC 7 Division explained , at the presentation that Aisha Grema was rescued on the 12th of August, with her 4-year-old child, by troops of Sector 1, 21 Special Armoured Brigade, in Bama Local Government Area.

Her name is on Serial 11 of the list of Chibok girls who were abducted from their school in 2014.

This brings the total rescued girls to 6, within the last two months.

The GOC disclosed that the three other ladies were rescued by troops of Sector 3 in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.

They include 29 year old Mwanret Dapam, from Jos in Plateau State was abducted on in December 2020, 22 year old Claris Fidel, 22, from N’djamena Chad, who was abducted on in March 2020 and 12-year old Hauwa who has been with Boko Haram terrorists, since infancy, and has no information about herself.

NAOWA’s National President, Salamatu Yahaya, donated relief materials and gave financial support to the freed females.

She assured the girls of the commitment of the military, in collaboration with the Borno State Government, to reunite them with their families.
