The Nigerian Army says it is seeking stronger collaboration with communities to end all forms of insecurity and foster an environment conducive to economic growth, peace, and prosperity.
Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, made this known during a special Sallah lunch organised for troops of Forward Operating Base Subsector 6, Operation Fasin Yamma, held at Fatika in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The special Sallah lunch was organised by the Army Chief to honour the commitment and sacrifices of the troops, as well as all those who have contributed to the military’s progress in tackling security challenges within the One Division’s area of responsibility.
Speaking at the event, the General Officer Commanding One Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Mayirenso Saraso said the non-kinetic approaches adopted by the Army are yielding positive results.

He assured that the military will sustain the momentum in countering violent extremists and insurgents to ensure national security.
Representing the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Logistics, Nigerian Army, Major General Erema Akerejola, commended the troops for their resilience, dedication, and gallantry in the face of adversity.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to defending the country’s territorial integrity and protecting citizens from threats.
The army authorities also paid tribute to fallen heroes, pledging never to forget the ultimate sacrifice made by brave soldiers who gave their lives for Nigeria’s unity, peace, and stability.
