The Chief of Army staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu says sound administration and continuous improvement of the welfare of troops, are the strength of the Nigerian Army which ultimately lies in the well-being, morale and preparedness of the soldiers.
The Army Chief who stated this during breaking of fast with officers and men of the Nigerian army in Abuja said troops fighting at the different theatres of operation must be supported to enhance their resilience and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Shuaibu called for dedication and patriotism assuring them of his leadership’s commitment to improving the overall welfare of the Nigerian army.
The Chief of Administration, Major General Isah Abdullahi said this unique alignment of both Christian and Muslim breaking fast together offers a profound reminder that while expressions of faith may differ, the values upheld are remarkably similar as Ramadan and Lent call for sacrifice, discipline, reflection, compassion and renewal.
The event brings together soldiers from different religious faith for breaking of fast indicating oneness and a people working under one interest of protecting the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of Nigeria.
