Chief Of Naval Staff: Osun Girls Excel As Enugu Beat Nasarawa

The excitement at the ongoing Chief of Naval Staff and the Naval Officers Wives Association NOWA football Tournaments hits the roof tops on Tuesday as participating teams surprised pundits with unimaginable skills and amazing results.

After observing Monday’s match free day, the teams resumed hostilities with renewed vigour.

The NOWA U-17 tournament witnessed an Osun Girls team that has been ruthless. After beating host Enugu 1-0, the team again registered another 2-0 victory over their Rivers State counterparts.
Anambra girls were also ruthless, beating Benue 3-0, Ebonyi girls were not left out, they also crushed Abia 3-0 just as the Nigerian Navy girls suffered an unexpected defeat to their Imo counterparts.

The U-14 boys tournament was more inspiring as most teams threw caution to the wind in their quest for qualification

Enugu boys were so ruthless.they defeated their Nasarawa opponents 6-0 despite being a 9-man- team.
Rivers team also recorded a hard fought 2-0 victory over the Federal Capital Territory FCT. Cross Rivers State lost 2-1 to the Nigeria Navy boys in an explosive encounter.

With the results, the teams are becoming more daring and resolved to turn the table to ensure qualification for the quarter-finals.

In Wednesday’s Pairings Akwa Ibom will try to beat Rivers State after their uninspiring outing against Ondo Enugu to face Anambra While Nigerian Navy will aim for another Victory when they tackle Edo boys.

In the girls category Anambra will face Ondo, Abia host Imo while the Navy girls will try to bounce back when they confront their Ebonyi counterparts.

The bar has truly been raised and no State wants to be left out. No matter the teams limitations, participating states have vowed to make a bold statement by ensuring total victory.
