Nigerian-born globally recognised writter and author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is holding tight her position that feminism is a justice movement.

Chimamanda, who is in Nigeria for the reading of her new work, “Dream Count,” challenged the female folks’ world over to change their perception from the second fiddle notion, in pursuit of freedom, descency and impact.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is in Nigeria, not for the first time after she left for higher education in the US, but for the first time since she published her new book, “Dream Count,”

Chimamanda is meeting students and lecturers not only to talk about “Dream Count” but to advance her pursuit of ‘Feminism’ as a justice movement for freedom, decency, and impact.

Dream count is a novel which features four women whose stories are told in turn: Chiamaka, a Nigerian travel writer stranded in America during the pandemic, her friend Zikora who is a successful lawyer, her cousin Omelogor who works in finance before coming to study in the US, and Chiamaka’s housekeeper, Kadiatou.

With tensed political climate in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general election, Chimamanda tells Women to embrace the self-confidence message in “Dream Count”, to think, imagine and act beyond the demands of ‘purple Valley’

Chimamanda has a number of other books that have strong messages concerning women liberation, empowerment, and protection.
