The Chinese Government has advised the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to work together for the development of Nigeria.

Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, gave the advice while addressing reporters in Abuja on Tuesday during the Communist Party of China, CPC and World Political Parties Summit which was held virtually.

The summit is part of activities to mark the Centenary celebration of the Communist Party of China.

The Ambassador also noted that the lessons learned from China could be beneficial to develop countries as the Communist party has helped in lifting over 800 million people off poverty globally.

Cui hinted that the CPC would rather encourage developing to learn from their successes than impose its ideologies on them as every country has its national policies.

Chinese President, Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party urged Political Parties around the world to always work for the wellbeing and development of citizens and nations.

President Xi also said that over the past 100 years, the Communist party has united the Chinese people and helped in realizing the great transformation of the country.

South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, commended the Communist party for setting the pace for good leadership and collaborations with other political parties to ensure the development of China.

The South African president also commended China’s continued support for economic reforms, constructive developments, enhanced trade, and greater integration amongst African economies.

The summit with the theme “For the People’s Wellbeing: The Responsibility Of Political Parties” had Politicians from Nigeria and members of the diplomatic community in attendance.
