Chinese national stab lady to death in Kano

A Chinese national, Geng Quanrong, has reportedly stabbed a lady, Ummukulsum to death in Kano.

The incident according to sources occurred on Friday night at Kabuga quarters (Dorayi Babba), Gwale local government area of Kano State.

Confirming the incident, Kano Command Police Spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect, Geng, 47, committed the crime after scaling the fence of the building to gain access to the house where he stabbed her severally.

The suspect alleged that the deceased who was his girlfriend deceived him after promising to marry him while he has spent a lot of money on her.

According to the suspect, he was sad as a result of being deceived by his late girlfriend which led to the act he committed at the residence of the deceased.

Abdullahi Kiyawa said the mother of the deceased raised alarm during the act and immediately after the police were alerted of the development, the Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawan, directed the DPO, Dorayi Babba, to take charge of the situation.

He noted that already the suspect has been transferred to the state headquarters at Bompai for further investigation and prosecution.

The deceased was a graduate of Agriculture Science from Kampala University, Uganda, and is currently on one-year compulsory service of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
