The former Deputy Chairman Northern Zone of the Plateau State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chris Hassan has been elected as the State Chairman of the party.
Hassan was elected during the party’s congress amid protest by some aggrieved aspirants and members who rejected the exercise; describing it as a charade.
The election was however conducted peacefully under tight security and in strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

Speaking before the election, the Chairman of the State Congress Committee Gen. Amnon Kwaskebe, denied having any knowledge of a planned boycott by some aggrieved members.
