Good Friday

Christian faithfuls in Ilorin the Kwara State capital have joined their counterparts across the globe to mark this year’s Good Friday, the day which marks the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.

Speaking with ait.live on the significance of the day, some of the church leaders across the churches visited noted that the death of Christ signifies victory and love for humanity, calling on Nigerians to emulate Christ by expressing love for one another regardless of tribe and religion.

Jesus Christ was crucified on Good Friday which signifies that good always wins and the fact that he went through so much suffering for the sins of humanity shows how much he loved everyone.

Speaking on the relevance of good Friday, the Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Kwara, Bishop Sunday Adewole, and Rev. Reuben Ibitoye of Unity Baptist Church Ilorin maintained that there is hope for Nigerians despite the challenges of insecurity, joblessness, and other hardships facing the country.

The clergymen also challenged the political class to do the needful by protecting Nigerians and their property warning that playing politics with the lives of Nigerians is ungodly.
