Christmas is about sacrifice, CAS tells Air Task Force Troops

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has said that, as military professionals, their sacrifices for the unity of Nigeria, remains immeasurable.

Sadique Abubakar was speaking at a Christmas Lunch, with troops of Air Task Force, of Operation Lafiya Dole, in Maiduguri, Borno State, to celebrate Christmas.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, reminded that, Christmas, is about sacrifice.

As such, he said, the military is aware of the enormous responsibility it bears, to ensure the indivisibility, of our dear country.

Sadique Abubakar said, the occasion is to fill the vacuum, created as a result of the troops’ inability, to celebrate with their families.

He said the occasion also fosters comradeship and gives the troops the opportunity to commend themselves for their collective efforts in the ongoing fight against insurgency.

The Air Chief said, it is not easy to quantify the enormous contributions and sacrifice, towards the war against insurgency.

He urged the troops to remain vigilant and focused, reiterating his commitment to reposition the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for effective, efficient and timely deployment of air power, in response to national security challenges.

He also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari, for providing NAF with the needed resources, to perform its assigned duties.

Air Task Force Commander, Air Commodore Abubakar Abdulkadir, who described the lunch as one of the many gestures of the Air Force Chief, in raising the morale and spirit of the troops in the frontline, assured of the troops commitment, to the assigned tasks.

He said, “Your presence here to felicitate with us, in spite of your tight schedule, demonstrates your continued commitment to the welfare and well-being of troops of the Air Task Force.”

Borno Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, who represented Governor Babagana Zulum, lauded the effective role of the Airforce, and other security agencies, to bring peace, to the state.

He assured of the government’s commitment, to work together, for a lasting peace, in the state.
