The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, (CIPM), has tasked its members with professional registration with the body, to adhere strictly to the core mandate of the institute in Nigeria.
The National President of the body, and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr Olusegun Mojeed, gave the charge in Birnin Kebbi, during the maiden inauguration of the Kebbi State chapter.
According to him, the mandate of the institute, as a regulatory body of chartered personnel managers, is to ensure all practising members must be fully and professionally registered, before they can man or operate in the public or private sector in Nigeria.
While congratulating the new Exco of the Kebbi chapter, he said Kebbi is the first to be inaugurated in the entire northwestern states, and therefore an indication that Kebbi is ready for the task, and the promotion of the institute.
Inaugurating the new chapter, the National Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of CIPM, Miss Oluwatoyin Naiwo, described the opening of the new chapter in Kebbi State as unprecedented, noting that many states in the north have been begging for inauguration, but have yet to do so.
She said that Kebbi has shown readiness to propel the institute, by increasing the number of members.
She congratulated the new Exco members and charged them to lead by example.

Speaking shortly after the formal swearing-in, the new Kebbi State President of the CIPM, Alhassan Yusuf, said that the task before him and his team is to first get members of the public to know the existence of the institute and to also know the benefits of being a registered member.
He further explained that not only graduates can become members of CIPM, there are also students who can be members through stages.
Kebbi State Head Of Service, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry For Budget And Economic Planning, Aishat Usman Kalgo, said the state government is ready to partner with the new CIPM chapter, to ensure civil servants in the department register as professionals.
While congratulating the new chapter, she also charged them to live up to expectation.
